New technology created by farmers for farmers.

New technology created by farmers for farmers. The technology mapping grass aims to quantify grass available and when to cut, thereby cutting costs and avoiding periods of draught or prolonged rain.

Satellite technology maps out the quantity of grass using optical and radar satellite imagery and carbon modelling to estimate grass biomass availability (kg DM/ha). The project, which has the potential to increase yield, increase grazing periods and reduce impacts on nature is called PASTORAL (Pasture Optimisation for Resilience and Livelihoods)
